The admissions edge, engineered

Walsh MBA Admissions Consulting was founded by Maren Walsh after years of reading applications from the other side of the table as an admissions interviewer at a top MBA program. What she saw, over and over, were strong candidates presenting themselves exactly like every other strong candidate — and getting read, and passed over, accordingly. The consultancy exists to close that gap: not ghostwriting, not packaging, but positioning — finding and articulating what makes a candidate the obvious admit for the program that fits them.

How we work

Every engagement is led personally by Maren and runs on a methodical process:

  • Positioning before prose: goals, story arc, and school strategy are resolved — scored against a structured rubric — before a single essay is drafted, because a brilliant essay with a muddled thesis loses.
  • Narrative development: essays drafted collaboratively through line-by-line revision — your voice, your evidence, sharpened to what an admissions reader can absorb in the time they have.
  • Interview engineering: mock interviews recorded, reviewed against the rubric, and repeated until the story holds under pressure — including the questions you hope they do not ask.
  • Portfolio strategy: school list, recommenders, and timeline planned as one system, not a stack of independent tasks.

Who we work with

Executives and ambitious professionals who treat the MBA as a deliberate career investment, and who want an advisor who has read enough applications to know what works. We deliberately keep a small client roster each cycle; our results are built on depth of engagement, not volume.

Admissions is a reading exercise, and the reader is busy. Walsh MBA makes sure your application earns the second read — and the third.
